Nikita Mikros is the CEO of BumbleBear and a veteran game designer. He is a three time IGF finalist, Indiecade and Come Out and Play winner. In addition he has worked on many games for clients including Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, LEGO, and others. He has taught game design and programming at the School of Visual Arts since 1994. Nik is currently very focused on creating new types of competitive games for arcades.
BumbleBear Games LLC is an independent game development studio founded by veteran game designers Nikita Mikros and Joshua DeBonis. Based in Brooklyn, NY, the duo has co-designed a number of new games for public spaces that blend physical and digital elements. Their hit 10-player arcade game Killer Queen (killerqueenarcade.com) has received numerous accolades including Indiecade’s Developers Choice award. The game continues to build communities at arcades across the country. Nik and Josh both teach game design at the School for Visual Arts and the NYU Game Center, respectively.
